Microsoft déploie actuellement le nouveau client Teams, qui remplacera le client Teams classique pour les utilisateurs qui l’utilisent encore. Cette transition implique l’installation du nouveau client Teams et la désinstallation de la version classique.       • Date: 1er juillet, 2024 
      • Détails: Après cette date, Teams classique  ne sera plus pris en charge. Les utilisateurs recevront des notifications dans l’application concernant l’état  non pris en charge. 
    • Fin de disponibilité pour Teams classique
      • Date: 1er juillet, 2025 
      • Détails: Teams classique cessera complètement de fonctionner pour tous les utilisatuers.

  • End of Support: October 1, 2024 
  • End of Availability: July 1, 2025 

Transition Effects Overview

    • July 1, 2024: Classic Teams will be unsupported. Users will receive in-app messages about the unsupported status, with periodic reminders. 
    • October 23, 2024: Classic Teams will no longer be available on certain older operating systems. Users will need to switch to the new Teams web app. 
    • July 1, 2025: Classic Teams will stop functioning entirely on Windows 10 and older macOS versions.

Unsupported Operating Systems 

    •  Starting October 23, 2024
      • After this date, users on these operating systems will see non-dismissible in-app dialogs notifying them of the end of availability. These dialogs will provide an option to use the new Teams web app on supported browsers as an alternative.
      • Classic Teams will no longer be available on:
        • Windows 7, 8, and 8.1
        • macOS Sierra (10.12), High Sierra (10.13), and Mojave (10.14)  
    • Starting July 1, 2025
      • In-app messages will inform users about the impending unavailability of Classic Teams. Users will still have access to the new Teams web app on supported browsers.  
      • Classic Teams will stop functioning on: 
        •  Windows 10 (LTSC included) 
        •  macOS versions older than Big Sur (11)

Alternatives After Availability Ends 

Once the Classic Teams client is no longer available, users who are unable to upgrade their devices can access the new Teams web app through supported browsers. This web app provides many of the same functionalities as the desktop client, ensuring that users can maintain productivity during the transition. As the transition from Classic Teams to the new Teams client progresses, it is crucial for both users and administrators to stay informed. Users will see an informational banner reminding them of the end of support timeline, which will guide on necessary actions, such as updating operating systems to continue using Teams.
