A Bold Step Toward Uninterrupted Protection

In an era where cyber threats evolve rapidly, even a moment of vulnerability can be costly. Fortinet’s global auto-start policy is designed to eliminate gaps in technical support, ensuring your systems remain fortified at all times. By streamlining service activation, this policy empowers businesses to focus on growth while Fortinet handles the complexities of cybersecurity.

Effective July 1, 2025, all service contracts purchased in any product line will be subject to new Fortinet’s Auto-Start policy.

During this time, we should log into FortiCloud and register your product to start using the services. If we don’t activate contract in time, we might lose part or all of the support we paid for.

The auto-start policy determines when a Service Contract begins if we don’t register it within a specific time, called the grace period. If miss this period, the contract may automatically start whether you’ve started using the product or not.

The new policy, effective July 1, 2025, applies to all Fortinet product lines and order types (hardware bundles, standalone subscriptions, professional services, and training) across regions like the United States, Canada, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), LATAM (Latin America), and APAC (Asia-Pacific).

1. Hardware Bundle (FortiGate, physical devices)
A combined package of Fortinet hardware and security support services (like FortiCare & FortiGuard) in one purchase. Ideal for new deployments.

2. Non-Hardware Service Bundle (VM, FortiCare, FortiGuard)
Service-only packages without hardware. Includes licenses for virtual appliances or service renewals.

3. Standalone Contract (Independent Purchase)
Service contracts purchased separately, such as training, professional services, or advanced support—no hardware included.
